Marysville Water Tower Fire
November 1, 1976

As seen from Minue Terrace In the late 1940's, the town of Marysville installed it's water works, consisting of a water tower, hydrants and piping for both water and sewer. The top half of the water tower was built of wood.

On November 1st, 1976, fire broke out in the old water tower. At the same time, there was another structure fire happening on the south side of the river. The water tower was no longer in service by this time, but had remained a landmark. The top half was destroyed in this suspicious fire. The tower was demolished at a later date.
