The men of the No. 1 Hose Company of the Fredericton Fire Department are seen here preparing to take part in laying the cornerstone of the Victoria Public Hospital, during Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee in 1887.
The firefighters are Captain Tapley McLaughlin, left, Thomas Smith, Edward Segee, Jack Hersey, Nat Smith, Isaac Burden, Edward McGinn, Henry Pollock and Jack McGinn.
