![]() Historic Fires of Fredericton80 Dunns Crossing Apartment FireFeb 7, 1977
On the morning of February 7, 1977, fire broke out on the second floor at 80 Dunns Crossing. Crews had to rescue several people from the apartment building, and as a result, firefighting operations were delayed.
Three people died as a result of this fire, a man in the apartment of origin, and two other people, a man and a woman, had succumbed to the heavy smoke while trying to go through the hallways to get to the stairs. A steep grade at the front of the building prevented crews from utilizing the Snorkel truck.
